IVFMD (Đơn vị Hỗ trợ sinh sản Mỹ Đức) is the assisted reproduction unit of My Duc Hospital, a private hospital in Ho Chi Minh City that specialises in infertility, obstetrics, gynaecology and newborn care. The hospital has two sites: one at No. 4 Nui Thanh in Tan Binh and one at 43R/2-4 Ho Van Hue in Phu Nhuan. My Duc Hospital reports successful IVF treatment for 14,000 families. Through its Uom Mam Hanh Phuc programme, which has run for 11 years, it says it has helped more than 600 families facing financial hardship with the cost of IVF. The hospital describes its team of experienced specialists as the defining feature of IVFMD. Its senior advisers include Prof. Dr Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, whom the hospital credits with pioneering IVF in Vietnam. Dr Ho Ngoc Anh Vu is listed as Head of the Assisted Reproduction Unit. Doctors from its HOPE Research Centre, which is headed by Dr Ho Manh Tuong, have published in The Lancet, including a study comparing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) with conventional IVF for couples where the male partner has normal sperm, and a randomised trial in which 1,428 women were assigned to different ways of preparing the womb lining for frozen embryo transfer. My Duc doctors have also studied in vitro maturation (IVM), where immature eggs are collected and matured in the laboratory; the study's authors say it needs only two or three days of hormone injections and removes the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome in women with many follicles. In August 2022 a team of Australian specialists led by Prof. William Ledger of the University of New South Wales visited the Phu Nhuan site to learn the CAPA-IVM method, and experts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Belgium, Denmark and the United States have made similar visits. Beyond IVF, the services the hospital lists include infertility check-ups, endocrine and menopause clinics, gynaecology, prenatal and postnatal care, pregnancy ultrasound, removal of uterine polyps and children's clinics. Outpatient clinics run Monday to Saturday from 7am to 11.30am and from 1pm to 4.30pm, and the hospital provides emergency care around the clock.
