Erectile dysfunction (ED), formerly called impotence, is the recurrent inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection that is suitable for satisfactory sexual intercourse.

How Common is Erectile Dysfunction?

Predominantly affecting men 40 years and older, ED is a common condition whose prevalence increases with age and other comorbidities.

In the US, most recent data indicate that 52% of men between the ages of 40 and 70 have erectile dysfunction.
